Lamy are well know for their high quality pens. The Lamy abc range have been specially designed as a child's first writing instrument. The propelling pencil with it's thick lead (1.4mm), is ideal for children just learning to write: the lead being strong enough to resist breaking and broad enough to glide smoothly over the page without 'digging in' - even in the hands of a beginner. The abc fountain pen is a child's first 'real' pen, it's 'A' nib specially designed to accommodate the varying writing angles of young writers. Both pieces have a 'triangular' grip section to encourage the correct grip right from the start.
Lamy's best-selling Safari range was in fact designed as a school pen, but has been readily adopted by all generations. The Safari fountain pen is now recommend by many schools and teachers in the UK. Also included is the Al-Star range, perhaps a more grown up version of the Safari, with an anodised aluminium body. As with the abc, these pens and pencils feature a triangular grip to encourage correct posture and an easily replaceable nib - a big advantage in a school pen!

The abc collection features an attractive beech wood barrel with either red or blue cap and trim.
The abc was designed for younger children just learning to write. The pencil features a chunky, break resistant, 1.4mm lead, great for forming your first letters. The fountain pen features a more forgiving 'A' grade nib, specifically designed for the beginner.
Both the pen and pencil feature a rubberised grip shaped to naturally encourage the correct hold.

The Lamy Al-Star pens share the same design as the Safari pens including the ergonomic trangular grip.
The Al-Star pens feature an anodised aluminium body making them a little more grown-up than the Safari - although this comes down to personal taste!
