They were designed by F. A. Porsche in accordance with his own personal philosophy: timeless good design is not just a matter of superficial styling. Rather, it is a process that takes place within, as part of the formal implementation of a functional principle.
An important component of this philosophy is the link between tradition and modern technology. This is something that has shaped F. A. Porsche's work from the start. A grandson of the legendary Ferdinand Porsche, he began his career as a designer with the family firm in Stuttgart. There in the early 60's, he created amongst other well-known sports and racing cars - the Porsche 911. The world acquired a new cult object, a form that can be sketched in a single sweep of the hand.
In 1974 F.A.Porsche fulfilled a lifelong ambition by founding his own design studio at Zell am See in Austria. There he also devotes himself to other product fields, in the best tradition of German design ranging from the Bauhaus to Dieter Rams. F. A. Porsche's earlier works have become modern classics that set standards of good design.

TecFlex is a cable sheath woven from stainless steel used by the Porsche Le Mans team to shield sensitive electronic connections from heat and mechanical stress. Needless to say TecFlex is extreamly hard wearing.

The Porsche Design P 3120 range of writing instruments are manufactured from aluminium. A material widely used in cars and aircraft.
Aluminium is light in weight giving the P 3120 range a lightness despite their solid construction.
The P 3120 range consists of complementary, twist action, ball pens and mechanical pencils.
The P 3120s are available in three finishes; silvery natural aluminium, titanium coloured anodised aluminium or a dark blue/grey anthracite anodised finish.
The ball pens accept standard refills and the mechanical pencil standard 0.7mm leads.

A new addition to the Porsche Design writing instrument range, the slim-line P3125 combines sleek clean lines, with an intelligent combination mechanism. The ball pen and mechanical pencil have a clever retracting clip; when in use the clip withdraws into the barrel for an uninterrupted surface.
The P'3125 is available in fountain pen, ball pen and mechanical pencil.

The Porsche Design P 3130 range comprises of a ball pen and 0.7mm mechanical pencil. Each has a barrel constructed of 17 highly polished stainless steel stems.
The point is actuated by twisting the barrel, during this process the stems move first straightening and then resettling to form the waist of the barrel.
The clip may be removed giving the P 3130 a sleeker look - the clip locks and unlocks with a quarter turn.
The P 3130 series accept standard refill types.

The Porsche Design P 3140 is small ball pen ideal for use with an organiser or easily slipped into the pocket.
The natural rubber body houses a neat mechanism which allows the point to be extended or retracted with a flick of the wrist.
The P 3140 has received a Red Dot award for product design.

The Porsche Design P'3190 pen case is reminiscent of a cigar holder. This rigid pen case for two pens, is wrapped in soft nappa leather and has an internal divider to keep the pens separated when stored.
